Open Day - 13th May
At Charles Péguy, safeguarding is a promise we keep together, every day. Students learn in a space where they’re known, valued and protected, surrounded by adults who care and act quickly if something doesn’t feel right.
Teachers, staff and families all play their part, spotting risks early and making sure students feel confident to speak up and take responsibility for their own wellbeing. We believe students thrive when they feel safe, so we work together to build trust, encourage open conversations and create a community where everyone looks out for each other.

School psychologist and designated child protection lead at Charles Péguy School, Rania ensures the psychological, emotional, and social well-being of students. She helps create a safe and caring environment where every child can grow with confidence.
She identifies at-risk situations and coordinates appropriate support, focusing on prevention and early intervention. Working closely with the child protection team, she promotes a culture of vigilance, respect, and care through staff training and clear safeguarding policies. Her work supports a school committed to safety, empathy, and the well-being of all students.
The safeguarding team is led by Ms. Chraibi-Belkady, who has 20 years of experience in education, including 18 years in the French middle and high school system. She also contributed to opening a primary school and a nursery, giving her a comprehensive understanding of children’s needs at every stage.
After supervising the middle and high school divisions, she is now head of the school and leads the safeguarding culture. Under her leadership, the team ensures that every student feels safe, supported, and empowered, working together to prevent, identify, and respond to risks. Their mission is to provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment that supports students’ overall development.
In our kindergarten, the child protection team is led by Salima, who brings 27 years of experience in education. A former early childhood educator and founding member of Charles Péguy School, she helped create a safe, caring, and structured environment.
Through a strong pedagogical approach and ongoing training, she and her team ensure prevention, attentive listening, and personalized support for each child. Under her leadership, students grow with confidence, teachers feel supported, and parents are fully involved.
For three years, as principal of Charles Péguy primary school, Imane has placed children’s safety, well-being, and overall development at the heart of her leadership. She builds on strong relationships of trust with students, families, and staff to ensure a safe, inclusive, and caring environment.
She works closely with teaching teams to strengthen prevention, quickly identify risks, and implement appropriate support. Her vision is a school where children feel safe and valued, teachers are supported, and parents are fully engaged as partners. Her commitment fosters a school culture based on vigilance, respect, and shared responsibility.
As academic director of Charles Péguy middle and high school, Hamza ensures high standards while fostering a culture of care, respect, and collaboration. His experience helps maintain a structured and safe learning environment where students can thrive.
Committed to educational continuity, he works with teachers and families to monitor progress, address individual needs, and support each student. His leadership promotes a school where safety and well-being are priorities, staff collaborate effectively, and parents are fully involved as partners.
Student safety is safeguarded by a robust and comprehensive child protection policy. Our procedures are clear and thorough, ensuring that any concerns are identified, reported and addressed swiftly and effectively.
Through regular training and rigorous monitoring, we maintain a secure environment where students are protected and supported at every step.
Ongoing safeguarding training
Every adult on campus takes part in regular safeguarding training. This means teachers and staff know exactly what to look out for and how to act quickly if a student needs help.
Secure campus
Students are always supported and supervised during break times, lunch and after-school activities. Our dedicated staff and teachers are present at every level, making sure students are safe, cared for and able to enjoy every moment at school.
Visitor registration
Every visitor is welcomed with a friendly check-in process. Only authorised guests can enter our campus, and each one signs in and wears an identification badge, ensuring our spaces remain safe and secure.
Safe digital environment
Students learn how to stay safe online, spot risks and make smart choices when using technology in a secured online network. Our teachers guide them through real-life scenarios, so they know how to protect their privacy.
Anti-bullying initiatives
We don’t tolerate bullying in any form. Staff act fast to resolve issues, and students learn how to support each other and speak up. Everyone follows our code of respect, so students feel safe, valued and free to be themselves.
Thorough staff screening
Every adult working with students is fully vetted before joining our school. We carry out thorough background checks to make sure only trusted, qualified staff and volunteers are part of our community.
Caring school culture
Students grow in a community where kindness, respect and support come first. Teachers and staff know every student by name and work together to create a space where everyone feels welcome and included.
Medical aid
First-aid kits are always available, and trained staff are on hand to respond quickly if a student needs help. Our team’s first-aid expertise means students receive prompt, professional care whenever it’s needed.
Focus on mental health
Students’ mental health matters as much as their physical safety. Our on-campus psychologist offers a safe space to all our students, so they always feel supported.
Safe learning spaces
Our classrooms and play areas are regularly inspected to remove any potential risks. Sensitive zones, such as toilets, are discreetly monitored by at least two adults, so students feel comfortable and protected throughout the day.
Emergency preparedness
We ensure that our community is ready for any situation. Evacuation plans and safety drills, including fire and lockdown exercises, are regularly updated and practised, so everyone knows what to do and feels confident in an emergency.
We are delighted to welcome families to our Open Day at Charles Péguy!
